Covert Hypnosis is Only One Form of Persuasion

Persuasion comes in many forms, such as covert hypnosis. There are many ways to use the sound of your voice, body language, specific words,  touch, and appearance as persuasion for others to follow your thinking and do what you suggest. The art and science (and it is both) of persuasion calls upon many skills and resources. The article featured today found on ehow.com (persuasion) shows that covert hypnosis is only one form of persuasion that you can learn to bring more confidence and success to your life and to the lives of others.

Persuasion: Getting Someone to Agree With You

"Being able to be persuasive is a skill that is important in the working world and can help you in your personal relationships as well. Persuasiveness is the ability to make someone else agree with what you are saying, whether they are agreeing that a certain product is a good investment or they are agreeing with a personal belief you have."

"The famous Greek philosopher Aristotle said there are three things you must use to be persuasive: ethos, pathos and logos. Ethos uses trust to convince someone, pathos appeals to a person’s emotions, and logos uses evidence and logic as a means to persuade someone."

Verbal Techniques

"When you are trying to persuade someone of something, you must talk to them to get them to see your point. There are many verbal techniques you can use to make your point of view seem right and appealing. For instance, using big words makes you seem knowledgeable and therefore right. Other verbal techniques include using a loud, convincing voice, repeating certain phrases or words, interrupting the other person and making sure you get the last word."

Physical Techniques

"Although you can’t use physical action to make someone listen to your point, you can use subtle physical techniques to persuade someone. For example, standing on a podium when delivering a message makes you seem tall and authoritative, and people are more apt to be persuaded by your words. Other physical techniques include using wide hand gestures or looking people directly in the eyes to establish trust."

Combination Techniques

"The most effective way to persuade your audience is to use a combination of verbal and physical techniques. The next time you watch a powerful figure deliver a speech, notice how they combine physical gestures along with words to really get their point across. When you are trying to convince someone of your point, use an authoritative tone and convincing words and look them in the eye as you talk."

Other Techniques

"Although verbal and physical techniques are the main techniques people use to be persuasive, there are other factors that play into how persuasive you are. Another way to be persuasive is using your personal appearance. Someone who is dressed in a suit and tie is more persuasive than someone in casual clothes because his appearance makes him look more credible. Your general stubbornness is also an attribute in being persuasive because if you refuse to give up, you are more likely to succeed in persuading someone of something."

Persuasion Over Time

Persuasion isn't an "all or nothing" endeavor either, it sometimes comes in stages and sometimes people will agree with you on one subject but not on another. The article mentions that your level of determination can be a factor as well as your confidence in yourself, this is very true. If you try a persuasion technique and it doesn't work right away don't lose confidence, project it! You'll notice the difference in others reactions to you immediately and because covert hypnosis is only one form of persuasion, make sure you are aware of and integrating all possible and appropriate persuasion techniques for your purpose.

Covert Hypnosis Becomes a Tool For Successful Women

    Covert Hypnosis Is Powerful

Covert hypnosis becomes a tool for successful women in the right hands like the author of a new book called Persuasion, Arlene Dickinson wants women to know that they are in control of their lives and they can also be more in control of the people around them. The first part of the interview with Arlene appearing in the Huff Post (covert hypnosis/persuasion) out of Canada explores how and why Arlene became an entrepreneur and then she goes on to discuss how the art of persuasion has helped her in her life to get what she wants and needs. Arlene is an example of how covert hypnosis becomes a tool for successful women

"By the time Arlene Dickinson was 30, she was divorced with four kids, had no savings and a high school diploma. Today, she's one of the country's most influential entrepreneurial leaders. Here's how the Dragons' Den co-star and CEO of Venture Communications used the art of persuasion to achieve success (and how you can, too)."

    How has persuasion helped you?

"It's helped me significantly. You can't do anything on your own. At the end of the day, you do need support and need somebody to take a leap of fate with you. Sometimes, because you have a vision, it doesn't mean you're going to get anything done. For me, persuasion has helped me to get people to follow my vision, to believe in me and my efforts. It's been a critical part of my life."

What tips do you have for women who want to get ahead in business?

"To try to not play the feminist role. I always say I'm not a woman in business, but I'm a person in business who happens to be a woman. Emotion is not a dirty word. Instead of making excuses or trying to quell the emotional capacity we have, we should be embracing it and utilizing it in a positive manner and not making excuses for who we are."

"Everybody shows emotion in some way and the truth of the matter is nobody will ever do anything for you in business unless they're emotionally connected to you -- and women do that better than anyone."

What is your advice for the younger generation of women interested in business?

"They have to be confident and be able to illustrate why they deserve a place at the boardroom table. Women fought that fight 50 years ago to get into the workforce and for equality -- now we need to show up and bring value to the boardroom table.

I think young women in particular need to realize their career will likely take a different path than men's will, they have to embrace that too. They might have kids, they might get married or move cities; those are things most women deal with and not men."

Covert Hypnosis To Even The Playing Field

The business world is the place women need every advantage they can get. Even with the changes in recent decades for women in business there is still a basic inequality that remains a problem women need to overcome. Covert hypnosis becomes a powerful tool to for successful women to use at meetings and gatherings when you need to make a lasting impression or convey extreme confidence in your proposal or presentation.

      Conversational Hypnosis Techniques and Examples

Conversational hypnosis techniques and examples based on the Milton Model have been fine tuned and time tested. The true and positive nature of these techniques is overwhelming when you consider how life changing conversational hypnosis techniques and examples can be to just one individual and how that one change can effect many  lives.  Its never to late to use converstational hypnosis techniques.

"The indirect suggestions used in conversational hypnosis are designed to mislead or confuse, and force you to think about what the indirect suggestion might mean, what the different possibilities are, and how it applies to you personally."

"The Milton Model suggests that indirect suggestion embedded in conversational hypnosis is more effective than direct suggestion. The Milton Model is a series of techniques used in conversational hypnosis, a way of putting someone into trance unnoticed as part of a normal conversation. This form of 'secret' indirect suggestion technique is known as the Milton Model. Conversational hypnosis often combines Milton Model hypnotic wording with Analogical Marking."

      ADVANTAGES OF CONVERSATIONAL HYPNOSIS

"When doing conversational hypnosis the Milton Model is used to put hypnotic words into an indirect suggestion."

"A direct hypnotic suggestion is a specific instruction such as 'You will now go into a deep trance' or 'You are now a non-smoker'. An example of an indirect suggestion is: 'Sooner or later you'll find yourself wondering about going into a deep trance. And you may do that suddenly or gradually' - is it the 'wondering' or the 'going into trance' that you 'may do'? And while you are considering which it is, you mind is actually going into trance."

"Because hypnotic words are not exactly defined, during conversational hypnosis the client must stop and consider the meaning of those hypnotic words. This causes the client to search their subconscious mind to fill in the missing bits, or to decide how to apply the words to their own personal experience (known as atransderivational search)."

"Because the subconscious mind has to spend time thinking about many different possible meanings, it is much more likely that the client will find something in their past that fits, and will be more effective than a direct suggestion."

"In conversational hypnosis the Milton Model suggestions need a bit more work to prepare but have the advantage of avoiding resistance. Some people have such low self esteem that they will not accept direct suggestions such as...

'You deserve to be loved, you are respected and admired' but will accept an indirect suggestion in conversational hypnosis such as 'I wonder how aware you are that many people respect you, and admire you... and there are other people, many of them... who love you for who you are."

      CONVERSATIONAL HYPNOSIS SUGGESTIONS

"The following examples of indirect hypnotic words and phrasing used in conversational hypnosis illustrate how the Milton Model of hypnotic suggestion is carried out. Each heading describes how conversational hypnosis works, and gives examples of that form of hypnotic wording as used in conversational hypnosis scripts."

      Cause and Effect implied

"The therapist makes a statement that implies that one thing causes another, or states that one thing is true, therefore the next thing must be true. The statement may be untrue, or there may be no direct link between the one thing and the other."

      • 'And knowing that you can stop gives you the right to change.'

      • 'Snapping that tape means you are choosing a different life '

      • 'You don't need to smoke any more because so many people love you and need you '.

You can identify an implied cause and effect statement by asking 'Does A really lead to B?'."

      Complex Equivalence

"This is where a Milton Model suggestion is given that one thing is the same as or equivalent to some other thing. It isn't that one thing causes another, but the implication that because one thing is true the other thing must be true."

      • 'Seeing yourself on that bridge demonstrates that you have made a decision today'.

      • 'snapping that tape means you are choosing a different life '

      • 'because you have control... you have choice in everything you do... '.

"You can identify a complex equivalence by substituting 'is the same as' for the linking verb, whereas the word 'causes' does not fit.

To help others who would otherwise reject a perfectly good direct suggestion, the featured article covered today from key-hypnosis.com includes conversational hypnosis techniques and examples to help you understand how powerful words are and how to use them effectively.

With his creation and introduction of conversational hypnosis Milton Erickson not only got the ball rolling on the possibility of subliminal suggestions regardless of the affiliation and discovery of the individual being hypnotized, yet also solidified his role as a great teacher and lifelong student of hypnotherapy. Covert Hypnosis Techniques Anyone Can Learn

          covert hypnosis

There are many programs that claim to offer covert hypnosis techniques anyone can learn but if you are as skeptical as I was at first you will want to do some research before buying into these claims. The article below comes from a site that does offer a covert hypnosis program however I was more interested in their explanations of covert hypnosis and the information they present to support what a hypnotist needs to do.

I like the way they presented this information and that it is not geared towards sexual seduction or other inappropriate uses. When you read the article below (covert hypnosis) you will realize that there are covert hypnosis techniques anyone can learn.

          Covert Hypnosis

"Covert Hypnosis also known as conversational hypnosis is the process in which one gains control over the others mind without their knowledge just by making conversations by the listener’s subconscious mind. The ultimate aim here is to change the opinion of the person in question by manipulating their thoughts and making them do things your way."

"In this process the hypnotizer changes the thought pattern of the people, their behavior, emotions and perception of life on a subconscious level. Unlike with conventional hypnotherapy sessions covert hypnosis does not involve closing of the eyes or any kind of moving pendulum or strange hand gestures."

          Suggestive Commands

"The commands or suggestions given by the person hypnotizing to the person being hypnotized are more of a metaphor and presented in an indirect fashion, although in certain cases they are also given directly. Stories are one of the tools of covert hypnosis which can be effectively used to convey your actual message across and help remember it with much more probability."

"The initial step in covert hypnosis though is to build a rapport with the listener. It is easy to do it with friends and family but also not that difficult to do it with strangers. All you have to do is use some compliment on them or laugh at their jokes to build a comfort level with your unknown listener. It is not necessary that you go too deep into building a connection with your listener."

          Building Rapport

"The next step after building a rapport with the person to be hypnotized you have to try and switch off the listener’s critical mind. It is nothing but diverting the listener’s mind from its normal thinking state to an imaginary thinking state. You can always start by using some scenarios and asking them questions like “What if…” or “Imagine this…” This immediately shuts off their critical mind and lets their imagination dominate their thought process."

"After successfully taking the listener off his/her critical mindset you may now make your irresistible commands and describe the things you want him/her to do. The effectiveness of this method depends on a lot of things that you put in to it. It depends on the way you transform their mind from critical thinking to imagination and the kind of statements you make to convince them well enough to perform the task you give them."

          Covert Hypnosis Is Easy

I used to be skeptical about the covert hypnosis techniques but I've actually used it myself many times and now I can honestly say there  are effective covert hypnosis techniques anyone can learn to use in any situation.
