Hypnosis?  It's All In the Labels.

You see all seduction, all dating rituals, all "forms" of attraction are inherently hypnotic. The fact that we don't "apply" the word or term "hypnosis" to it is irrelevant.

Seduction IS hypnosis.

Hypnosis IS a form of seduction.

well actually it’s a fundamental rule that governs pretty much any form of human interaction.

The Things We Create Have The Most Power and Influence Over Us!

Seriously, this principle is so powerful and so pervasive, yet so completely overlooked, that it boggles my mind how easy it actually is to hypnotize people without them knowing by simply doing back to them what they are projecting at you.

This is why I spend so much time studying seduction materials...

They give us a true, real-world understanding of hypnotic principles and hypnotic operators that most people who, as bias of their “clinical” or “classical” training. Simply would not pay attention to.

The truth is the most seduction techniques are based in the courtship behaviors that “women” use to attract men to them in the first place.

Now the beautiful part for those interested in attracting the opposite sex, dating and seduction as well as for those looking for “less than sensual” applications of covert and conversational hypnosis is simply this.

Your subjects are most likely blissfully unaware that they are telling you exactly how to hypnotize them into doing what you want.  Just by the very act of how they treat you.

If, of course, you have enough “situational awareness” to recognize what is actually happening.

This all can be distilled back down to the NLP based principle of matching and mirroring and pacing and leading. Which are the primary tenets of most Ericksonian based hypnosis and NLP courses.

Unfortunately for our purposes. While the disciplines of NLP and Ericksonian hypnosis are wonderful for teaching us “about” the principles and of course giving them fancy names.

They don’t help us much out in the real world beyond basic therapy applications.

“yawn” … er I mean…  therapy is okay, but…

How does it really help me get money?

More Dates, etc.

Better Relationships, Even… Dare I say it…

More Sex?

If any of the above mentioned "basic human desires" sounded appealing I’d stay away from the more classical (and somewhat impractical) approaches to learning hypnosis and/or hypnosis training.

    Propaganda and “The Bandwagon” Method of Persuasion

    Persuasion Bandwagon or Bandwagon Persuasion?

    Whenever it is necessary to get a crowd or group of people to join together for one purpose you may choose to use propaganda and "the bandwagon method of persuasion."   This is not a new concept of course, the phrase bandwagon has been around a long time for a reason, it refers to a situation where others join or act  in unison with a group for a specific purpose. This method of persuasion is described in this short article found on Changing Minds(Persuasion Bandwagon).

    Persuasion, Everybody's doing it…

    Make it appear that many people have joined the cause already, and that they are having lots of fun or getting significant advantage.

    Show that those who join early will get the better prizes, such as positions of authority or other advantages.

    Link your topic of persuasion to morality and values, showing that those who join sooner are more moral and pretty much better people all around.

    Make a loud noise. Use bright colors. Play a fanfare. Become impossible to miss. Be in-your-face until they join up.

    Bandwagon Persuasion is all around  us.

    A political party holds a rally with much flag-waving and razz-a-ma-tazz.

    A new religious group ensures all of its members attend services and become active participants in recruiting new members.

    Discussion

    The Bandwagon persuasion method uses social evidence to legitimize itself and become attractive. The idea behind the persuasion plays heavily on the need for belonging, making the group a desirable place to be. This type of persuasion may also use the scarcity principle, showing that it is better to join sooner or later.

    The term 'bandwagon' came from the Temperance movement, where an open wagon would literally have a band on it and drive around town picking up drunks who would symbolically 'get on the wagon' of alcohol-free (and religious) living.

    I think advertising uses this persuasion method very well. Just look at Apple. How many people really need all the beeps and whistles on the iPhone? Yet, consumers line up for hours just to say that they have it already,that they got it the opening day. I am mystified by this but it works everytime. Apple convinces people that they will sell out immediately and that the product will be impossible to find so that if they want to have the gadget of the moment they have to be there the first day. Clearly, propaganda and the "bandwagon method" of persuasion work like a charm. Genius.

      Covert hypnosis being introduced to propaganda? 

      Ooops, I think they are very familiar with each other already. In fact propaganda takes covert hypnosis to a much wider audience. On Changing Minds.org (covert hypnosis/propaganda) the discussion shows that the qualities that make propaganda so powerful, also make covert hypnosis just as powerful. Let me introduce propaganda to covert hypnosis and show you what is possible.

      Propaganda is an evocative word that brings to mind images of dictatorships and wartime misinformation. Although not as widespread as conspiracy theorists might have us believe, it is still in use daily in virtually every country."

       

      The ideological goal

      "The basic defining goal of propaganda is that it seeks to control what people believe – that is, the ideas they consider to be unquestionably true. Hence propaganda is about ideology, which may be political, religious, philosophical. In some senses, all ideologies use propaganda when they promote their ideas as being the only real truth and denigrate other belief systems as bad, evil or just plain wrong."

      The hidden quality

      "Another defining quality of perfect propaganda is that it is hidden, such that the recipients perceive it and communications about it as a simple truth. The subject matter just becomes what is normal and the communicator of the message is not perceived as trying to persuade or manipulate."

      In brief, then, propaganda is covert hypnosis/persuasion of large groups of people.

      "At the other end of the realization scale, if people perceive themselves as victims of manipulative machinations, then they will feel betrayed and hence rebel against the manipulator. This rebellion may be open or, if the manipulator has other power (such as military), then it may become subverted and covert."

      Basic conditions

      "For propaganda to happen, there must be a person or persons in positions of power where they have significant control over mass-communication media. This can include presidents, governments and media moguls. At a smaller scale, it also includes company bosses, head teachers and parents."

      "The person in control must have a need either that a significant group of people believe something to be true or perceive something in some way."

      Many people fear the use of propaganda because they know the power it has to change the course of events. When propaganda is used for negative purposes it can lead to devastating consequences. However if a group of people can be convinced that something is beneficial and positive results occur then let me introduce propaganda to covert hypnosis and start motivating people and changing the future.

        The highs and lows of self-hypnosis

        Self-hypnosis is a new procedure that is taking the country by storm. Despite being relatively new compared to the usual hypnosis procedures with professionals, self-hypnosis has enjoyed a lot of buzz in recent years. This is perhaps due to the fact that it is completely different from what people usually expect from hypnosis procedures which is a lot of control.

        Although the same control can still be seen in self-hypnosis, that control will largely come from the patients themselves. There is no more hypnotist involved that can manipulate you into doing things that you don't want to do and not know that you are doing at all. This time the control and the power to change will be all in your hands. The procedure actually answers two of the things that critics question about hypnosis itself.

        Self-Hypnosis Criticizations

        The first one is the idea that a person other than yourself is controlling you and is entering your mind. Mind control is something that people still fear about until now. With self-hypnosis, there will be no hypnotist. Although they will be there to teach you the basics and guide you through the procedure as well as check on your progress, all the hypnosis will be in your hands. You will have control of your own mind, which is how things should be even in real life.

        The next thing is the fact that you are not some kind of patsy that will just sit around and let things happen to you through the hypnotist. Now there is an effort coming from the patient itself. Change is no longer something done to you. Now you can do it yourself. A lot of the critics of hypnosis in the first place comes from the fact that people are not actively involved in the process. They are only recipients of the cure instead of being the problem solvers themselves.

        This is especially true when it is used to curb a bad habit or get over an addiction. When attempting to change, a person should work hard at it otherwise, it will not be a change that comes from something internal. As they say easy come, easy go. Self-hypnosis however changes this fact as the patients themselves are active problem solvers being the hypnotist themselves.

        Self-Hypnosis, What Can Go Wrong?

        One downside of self-hypnosis is the fact that it is done by an amateur— the patient who will probably know nothing about self-hypnosis except that fact that it can somehow solve his or her problem. Although the hypnotist will be there to guide you, an amateur will still be the one to handle everything and when you really think about it, will any sane person let an amateur get hold of their minds even if those persons are themselves? This is why one of the things that are often asked about self-hypnosis is its safety. According to experts, it is as safe as any hypnosis procedure, maybe even safer because at least this way, you can be sure that you are dealing with someone who is not there to con you.

        Another disadvantage of self-hypnosis is the slow progress. Still, responses of people will also depend on whether they are receptive to the self-hypnosis task or not. There are people who are more suggestible than other people and those who are not so suggestible will surely find it hard to find change.
