Conversational Hypnosis: Can You Really Hypnotize Anyone Just By Speaking?

Conversational Hypnosis: How to hypnotize anyone just by speaking. Is it really possible to hypnotize someone or any one for that matter just by speaking?

Well the answer to that is a resounding yes.

A better question might be. Can YOU hypnotize anyone just by speaking, let alone using conversational hypnosis?

Can you even really tell if they are hypnotized?

Are they hypnotized in the way you want, and need those, to be hypnotized?

Did you even know you hypnotized that person in the first place?

I could continue to ask a whole bunch more of very provocative and probing questions but I think you are already getting the point here.

Are you not?

How Can You Use Conversational Hypnosis?

If the obvious answer to the very first question is yes. Then HOW do you actually do it. And Do YOU have the ability to do it?

Yes. You do have the ability to do it by virtue of the fact that you are a living breathing human being with a pulse. You see I don’t subscribe to the concept of hypnosis the way most people in the community do.

Nope, Orthodox hypnosis is for sissies, and no, that is not a reference to sissified hypnosis, that’s a different niche entirely.

It’s more a statement of the current state of hypnotic affairs in the orthodox hypnosis community a community that relies on as one of my more controversial mentors put it…weak, sissified, and, neutered technique.

You see the truth about humans is this…They are all asleep.

Metaphorically speaking anyway…

You see the natural state of the average human is simply to move through the world in a state of internally focused awareness.

In a nutshell…

People are more in love and involved with what is going on inside their own heads than they will ever be with what is going on outside of it.

This gives the user of conversational hypnosis tremendous power if he can accomplish a few simple things.

The first thing is to get them out of the trance they are in and into the trance that is most useful to achieving the behaviors you want them to engage in. Seems simple. Sometimes it is.

Sometimes it isn’t by any large the fastest way to make covert and conversational hypnosis easy is to cultivate an understanding of the three Pillars of Covert/Conversational Hypnosis

The ability to do conversational hypnosis has multiple components.

Conversational Hypnosis Components:

We call this the I-3 model in the Killer Influence,  covert conversational hypnosis system I teach.

If you don’t have control of these three things your power as a conversational hypnotist drops dramatically.

A.Identity – You need to know who you are, what your skill sets are, your attributes and of course you must know what the outcome is that you want to achieve, and if necessary that the sub outcomes are that naturally lead to the achievement of your overall goal.

B.Intelligence: This is the area where people are the weakest. If you master this area you are practically unstoppable as a covert or conversational hypnotist

a.Intelligence as we define it has nothing to do with how smart you are, or your IQ score

b.It has everything to do with your ability to gather, calibrate and derive useful information from your subject

C. Influence : influence as we discuss it here simply means the tools, tactics, strategies and techniques that allow you to make manage the information about the subject and environment . In other words to know what to do, when to do it and of course HOW to do covert and conversational hypnosis.

We have several formulas for covert hypnosis and conversational hypnosis that we teach. You can use a simple

AIDA Style format that is familiar to many marketers and copy writers.

AIDA Stands for Attention – Interest- Desire- Action. We would add a couple extra A’s into that formula such as Amplify, And Anchor.

Attention stage teaches you to get them out of their head and into the world. To move your subject or target from an internally aware state
(dissociated) to an externally aware state ( associated) only when the subject is fully associated can we really do powerful conversational hypnosis.

Getting someone from a dissociated state to an associated one is as simple as asking a basic question like Do you know what time it is? Or how is your day going?

Very simple, changes their focus of attention from Internal to External.

Now you can move to stage two… Interest.

Now you have to do something that engages their interest something they want to interact with you about.

Certain kinds of hypnotic questions are very good for this. They also allow you subtly manipulate the direction of the conversation while letting your subject do most of the talking.

Very good for dating, attraction and seduction scenarios because the longer a person talks to you about something that they are interested in. The more hypnotically charismatic YOU become.

This is a very common scenario when a man and a woman go out on a date. The guy spends all night answering the woman’s questions, talking about himself and by the end of the night his attraction to her has quadrupled.

( Unfortunately for our hapless hero. He also managed to bore the pants/dress of the young lady playing the question game)

Here is a key principle you need to understand. There are four pillars of irresistible hypnotic influence. Master them and the world is yours. One of those pillars is known as “Authority” or more precisely The Authority principle.

We don’t have time to go into the four pillars here. But just understand this. Being the authority makes other people who see you that way highly suggestible to you.

Asking Questions gives you the unconscious position of authority in the other persons mind when they are answering those questions.

Do the math amigo.

Hypnotic Questioning is an entire method of influence and conversational hypnosis unto itself. Most people don’t even realize it exists. They are all still stuck on
Ericksonian Confusion Patterns, Double binds and embedded commands. The best stuff never calls attention to itself.

The very fact that you probably know what I am talking about indicates just how much attention these particular techniques get. Couple that with the fact that most people simply don’t do it very well anyway.

The best stuff is simple. Foundational and universal. Meaning it works well everywhere.

This article is getting long so let’s finish up the AIDA Formula Real Quick.

We covered Attention and Interest

Now let’s talk about Desire.

This of course is where what you want and what your subject wants converge. People will do just about anything you want them to if you show them how it will get them something they really want. The key word of course being “Really Want”.

In sales and marketing this could be the pain or problem they are having and want to make go away.

When you effectively link what you want them to do with what they already want at a deep level. People will practically do anything you tell them to. If you press those buttons properly.

The best way to achieve this is through stimulating emotional arousal in your subject. Emotions automatically bypass the critical factor of the Subconscious mind and all you change the perceptual filters toward what you want them to do.

Humans intuitively understand this concept by always making sure someone is in a good mood before making a request for something.

Don’t lie to me, we all did it as kids, Waited till mom or dad was in a good mood before we asked for that toy or to borrow the car.

Moods matter. Especially from a conversational hypnosis perspective.

We also want to amplify those emotional states and link them to us. That way we become emotionally associated to the positive actions we want them to take.

The last letter in our covert conversational hypnosis formula is Action.

You must tell them very clearly, or demonstrate very clearly what you want them to do next and then you have to give them the autonomy to do it.

In our system of Easy covert conversational hypnosis, we call this “the Illusion of Control” this is where we give our subject complete freedom to choose any of the choices we’ve given them. The end result of course is…

All roads lead to doing what we want them to do, or simply following our instructions. Either way works for us.

Now it stands without saying that if you’re going to engage in conversational hypnosis that you always go for a win/win for both you and your subjects. That allows you to tap into the most powerful trance inducer there is.

Sincerity.

Well that’s it in a nutshell for the AIDA conversational hypnosis model. The best place to start learning how to apply the principles of Covert Conversational Hypnosis is my top secret STEALTH Conversational Hypnosis Crash Course.

It’s the simplest and easiest way to hypnotize anyone to do what you want in just minutes, without them even knowing it.

That’s it for now.

Confidence: What it is and how to get it.

Confidence. We hear that word an awful lot in the field of dating attraction and ultimately sexual prowess and seduction skills. You know recently I just finished an amazing teleclass on what I have come to call the 7 Universal Stages of Sexual Attraction.

In that call I discussed some profoundly simple and powerful ways to actually be more confident. You see I really don’t think guys need more confidence when dealing with women.

    Not at all.

I used to think it was all about confidence.

But its not. The real Gold is NOT Self Confidence.

The Real Goal is something much more profound, fundamental and ultimately more simple.

    CERTAINTY.

That’s it right there in a nutshell.

You see “confidence” is really just a symptom. Its secondary.

The biggest fear all humans have is the fear of the unknown. When a guy approaches a woman its not the fear of rejection (although it is present and a valid issue) that usually holds him back.

It’s the uncertainty of the situation.

Is she going to reject me, or not?

What if she doesn’t like me?

What if we get together are happy for a while and then we have a horrible breakup?

What if someone or everyone sees her reject me?

What if I say something stupid?

    What if …

    What if…

    What if…

Lets look at the confidence vs. certainty chicken or the egg issue.

If you could look at any woman and know with an 80% certainty that she wants you to come talk to her. How much MORE confident would you be about going up to her and talking to her?

couple more examples then we will kind of close this loop.

What if when talking to a woman you could see and know exactly where you stood with in her eyes with regard to how attractive she found you? How much more confident would you be about moving forward with her?

If you could see with a 99% and know that a woman really wanted you to kiss her or even take her back to your place for something “more private”. How much more confident would you be?

Now lets flip the equation around and really think about it logically.

IF your were absolutely confident that a woman wanted to talk to you. How certain of it are you really? Apply logic to this now. How much certainty is there?

Does the level of certainty really go up? maybe yes, maybe no. Suddenly we are no longer certain about how certain we are. (no this is not a confusion induction)

If you were ‘confident” that a woman really wanted to sleep with you. Without any obvious indicators to go by except your “confidence”. How certain are you really about?

Can we at least start to entertain the idea that the confidence-certainty conundrum does not go both ways and is in fact heavily skewed towards the side of certainty.

Okay so by now you are saying… So What David. Get to the point.

    Its really quite simple really.

The key to confidence is certainty.

Now remember a higher level of confidence does increase the “likelihood” of success. But I think you’ll agree when you think about that a high degree of certainty breeds more confidence than a high degree of confident breeding certainty.

So the question becomes. If the above is true. how do we become more certain and therefore by default catapult our true inner confidence.

Well there are many ways to do it pretty much all of which can be summed up in two words.

    Education and Action.

If you want a high degree of certainty those two words will pretty much get you there.

With regard to sexuality, sexual skills, dating attraction and seduction. You need to be educated as how things work, but more importantly you need to be educated in what to look for in how to assess the information you are getting in the field.

If you have more information you automatically have a higher degree of certainty about where you stand and what to do next.

I have said this many times in my various courses from Secret Orgasm Tips To ForeverMan, to STEALTH and most recently in My latest Teleclass the 7 Stages of Sexual Attraction.

The single biggest fact in making any form of dating, attraction and seduction work is the ability to evaluate and know if what you are doing is having the desired effect or not.

Too many guys have practically no clue if all those memorized routines are actually working or not. In fact, most guys can’t even tell if a woman is attracted to them or not, or when she is just being polite and can’t wait to escape.

Let me know your thoughts. Post your comments below.

We will pick up this thread a little later.

Learning Hypnosis: 4 Reasons Why Some Hypnotists Fail

I recently received an interesting hypnosis question from one of my readers Who we will call “Fred” to protect his privacy.

Now Fred, obviously loves hypnosis and you can tell that by just the few words he gives when he’s explaining his predicament.

So here is “Fred’s Post To Me, my answer follows.

      Dear David,

I have bought several programs on hypnosis with no success. Is hypnosis something anybody can learn?

      Regards,

      Fred.

      Dear Fred,

Obviously if you have purchased several courses on hypnosis than you are quite passionate about the subject.

The short answer to your question is yes, anybody can learn hypnosis.and if you are NOT getting the results you want there may be several reasons why.

I will go into some of the most obvious ones and then as time permits I will elaborate on some of them. In any event I will give you as much information as I can and then point you in the direction of where to get more information when you decide you are ready for it.

The Biggest Reason For Failure When Using Hypnosis: Piss Poor Training.

Don’t you just love my colorful verbage?

Lets be honest hypnosis is a huge market on the internet. Lots of people love hypnosis and want to use hypnosis in all parts of their lives. Most marketers know this too. Which brings us to two basic problems

#1 Most Hypnotists and Hypnosis Trainers Suck.

Yes I know that is NOT going to make me popular with the orthodox hypnosis community, but I can tell you from first hand experience that many people out there doing trainings, and creating hypnosis products…HAVE NEVER USED Their training professionally,

I know of probably hundreds of people each year who go through practitioner, masters and trainers training all in the space of several weeks and come out trying to bill themselves a an expert in hypnosis and NLP.

( a lot of these people actually wind up coming through my personal mentoring program because they realize very quickly that they don’t actually “know” anything and can “do” even less.

That realization really bothers them because their so-called trainer made them think they would be the next “Milton Erickson” or “Richard Bandler.” )

      #2 Bad State Control:

State Control is the #1 area where I see the biggest difference in a persons ability to put someone in trance. Simply put, in order to put someone in trance, you need to be able to go into trance yourself and the person you are hypnotizing has to be willing to follow you into trance either by assent or by acquiescence.

Remember the working definition of trance has two components

      A. Absorption into the experience combined with                             B. A Continually Narrowing focus of attention.

In an orthodox hypnosis sense you also need assent, we call that the overt hypnotic contract.

In a Covert Hypnosis context you need acquiescence which is an implied form of the hypnotic contract.

If  you have never heard the term hypnotic contract before, return all of your hypnosis courses and get your money back because someone is NOT giving you the right information to get good fast.

      #3 Poor Calibration Skills

Poor calibration skills comes in two flavors. Yours and Theirs.
For this one we need to elaborate a bit and actually clarify some terms. Specifically – Calibration, Sensory Acuity,

      First things first,

Calibration is the  ability to determine the meaning of a specific piece of data based on its deviation from a pre-determined baseline. Okay so what does that mean in plain English.

The only way you can measure a change is to know its starting point first. and then, based on the number of times that change occurs  and how strongly that change occurs relative to other “markers” is what allows you to begin to figure out exactly what that “change” actually means.

For example, a very reliable body language cue I teach my students is pupil dilation calibration. What so special about this particular cue?

      Everything.
      A. Its easy to see change.
      B, it can’t be faked,
      C. it works the same on every human on the planet.
      D. Its cross contextually useful -  meaning it gives you very valuable information no matter where you are using it.

The principle is simple – The smaller the size of the pupil, the less positive they find what they are experiencing. The larger the pupil size The more they like what they are experiencing.

Here’s the rub, how do you tell if the pupil is larger or smaller?

You have to have something to compare it to do you not? That initial measurement is called a “Baseline” and it’s the baseline that allows us to measure a degree of change that eventually allows us to determine exactly “What That Change Actually Means”

The way we begin to take those measurements is through Sensory Acuity.

Sensory acuity is an art form in and of itself. It’s the ability to use your five senses to perceive and become aware of ever finer degrees of change in the way people behave.

Behavior can mean body language, facial gestures, involuntary responses and much much more.

Sensory acuity applies to “anything that can be perceived by the five senses.

So David, how does this apply to the whole Yours and Theirs statement you made earlier?

Well, most people have practically zero calibration skills and only marginal sensory acuity. and to make things worse…

Most hypnotists don’t even know what to look for to determine if the subject is actually in trance or not.

Trance Leaves Clues. There are in fact some very powerful physiological shifts that manifest as a person goes into a trance state.

Most hypnotists I have met who are “classically trained” don’t know what those traits are and even fewer can calibrate a conversationally induced trance at all. They do have some differences.

Most people think that relaxation is equal to hypnosis and therefore they calibrate relaxation as depth of trance. That is a very bad way to do or even attempt trance work.

Rather you should be calibrating for absorption and focus of attention while guiding them through the hypnotic process.

      #4 Bad Technique

This is where we see one of the biggest problems with new hypnotists.

Bad technique of course falls into several subcategories.

The first one being more focused on the patter than on the subject. We see this most commonly in what we call the Scriptnosis Vs Hypnosis category.

Scriptnosis is when the hypnotist is so focused on reading the words in his hypnosis script that he pays little or no attention to the client in front of him or her.

When a hypnotists is so focused on following a script or a recipe for a particular hypnotic process they often miss the all-important  non-verbal, other- than-conscious, signals that allow him or her to really guide the client through the change you are working to achieve.

Lets face it. If you are paying attention to the words on the page you are NOT paying attention to the person in front of you.

      So much for sensory acuity.

This is also where many hypnotists start to buy into the concept or resistance.

Resistance is usually created when the subject perceives a lack of connection and or mistrust between themselves and the hypnotist.

This condition is made even worse when something in the hypnotists methodology is in conflict with some element within the clients unconscious mind, and, because of an inability to detect the very obvious cues when these things happen. The “Resistance” only increases.

There are many other examples of “poor hypnosis technique” that I could give. The above is just one of the most common.

      Hypnosis Is A Skill

          Criminal Hypnosis? Really?

          Hypnosis, The Truth.

People often ask “Can you really make someone do something against their will while in or while using hypnosis?”

And of course the hypnosis community at large is quick to reply with an emphatic “NO!” you can’t make anyone do something against their will in hypnosis.

They are wrong… At least on one level… okay actually several levels.

          PLEASE NOTE:

This post is NOT Going to make me popular with my Orthodox Hypnosis Community. But I sincerely believe that they are doing YOU a disservice by continuing to spread this inaccurate concept about what is and is not possible within hypnosis.

Now keep in mind, most hypnotists are NOT remotely skilled enough to be able to make someone do something against your will.

          What Is Hypnosis?

The corollary to that is also “how you ‘define” hypnosis

Not to mention something few people ever really talk about, and that is..

“What is it people really want to do, versus what they say they want to do or will do.”

A couple posts ago I showed you a video of Darren Brown Doing street hypnosis and literally walking away with a guys keys, wallet, watch etc.

Real or not? I will let you decide on that but I will tell you that what Darren is demonstrating as Street Hypnosis is a form or “waking hypnosis” Below is a video from my good friend Richard Nongard… Also a very skilled hypnotist.

Richard has a very different view of hypnosis that we see in Darren Brown’s example. Check out His YouTube Video Below

Richard has very specific view of what constitutes “hypnosis” and a hypnotic state. I don’t necessarily agree with him. Check out the Darren Brown Post On Street Hypnosis Below…

As you can see, from the two very different perspectives one side says hypnosis works this way, the other side says hypnosis works “that way”

The ability to make some do something is not a question of is it hypnosis or not.

In fact, what we really need to exploring are the differing states of mind that a human being can access and experience and what types of phenomena become possible when those states are accessed.

          Is It Really Hypnosis?

I’ve found three variables (and these are very big picture variables mind you)

          A. you have to know your target/subject

          B. You have to manage your environment

          C. You have to manage the context of the interaction

If you can control those three variables, (and there are many ways to do that) you can in fact make anyone, do just about anything.

          Period.

          What do you think?
